RBI Grade B Exam 2020

RBI Grade B exams are being conducted every year. The notification of the exam will be given every year in the month of September. Let’s get a better idea about the post before we dive into its qualifications and further stuff. RBI denotes ‘Reserve Bank of India’ which is the apex bank in the country. RBI was established in the year 1935 in accordance with the provisions of the Reserve Bank of India Act, 1934. The functions of RBI is based on the preamble: “to regulate the issue of Bank notes and keeping of reserves with a view to securing monetary stability in India and generally to operate the currency and credit system of the country to its advantage; to have a modern monetary policy framework to meet the challenge of an increasingly complex economy, to maintain price stability while keeping in mind the objective of growth.” RBI has 27 regional offices and four sub-offices.

RBI releases notifications for four exams such as Assistant, Grade A, Grade B and Grade C. RBI assistant is a clerical job which is not conducted annually. The hierarchical order of grades are Grade C, B and A. Grade A post is similar to Assistant manager posts in Banks. There is no direct recruitment of Grade A officer. RBI promotes the Assistants after certain qualification into Grade A posts. Grade C officer is recruited predominantly by promotion from Grade B and rarely by direct recruitment. RBI Grade B officer recruitment is conducted directly in a three phase filtering (Phase I, Phase II and Interview). The Phase I and Phase II exams are conducted through online mode.
